A2B Tracking has developed a companion application for UC! Web users, that provides an offline Barcode scanning solution to perform automated inventories inside of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (also known as SCIF environments).

Our barcode solution for SCIF environments takes advantage of a lightweight barcode scanner that has no wifi, cellular or bluetooth capabilities and is therefore always offline. This mobile 1D barcode scanner can perform inventories by assigning a specific item with a location, date and time stamp. The mobile device can securely store all of the inventory data until the user is ready to upload it to a computer.

The mobile device uses a simple USB cable to connect to a computer which allows the user to transfer the data up into the A2B Tracking Government Property Management platform. Using a custom A2B companion application provides a quick and seamless data transfer that maintains security requirements needed for SCIFs.

SCIF Environments

Many of our Government Property Management system users are Defense Contractors that are obligated to maintain a SCIF environment. These Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities have rigorous security requirements to protect and safeguard the information and materials inside. These ultra-secure environments are not allowed to have wifi, cellular, bluetooth, video, or image capturing equipment.

It is not unusual for these SCIF facilities to have government property stored inside of them.  Depending upon the requirements of the contract, those assets need to be tracked, managed and reported up to the appropriate Government systems. As you might imagine, performing an inventory in a SCIF environment has a unique set of challenges. Many of our customers have relied on manual inventory counts to manage the property inside of their SCIFs. However, performing manual inventories with a clipboard is slow, tedious and prone to errors.

We are happy to announce that the A2B Tracking Government Property Management system has an elegant solution to perform these critical inventories while maintaining compliance to SCIF security requirements.
