Management of Government property is a critical aspect of contracts subject to FAR 52.245-1, Government Property. DOD’s focus on property management coalesced when The Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR), which was initiated in 2010, brought focus to the gaps in the management of government property. FIAR’s stated goal is to improve the Department’s financial and business management operations, allowing it to successfully produce “auditable” financial statements.

The DCMA Guidebook for Government Contract Property Administration provides a process summary to DCMA personnel for consistent oversight of contractor property management systems and is intended to promote consistency in the methodology and analysis techniques employed by DCMA.

This webcast features an overview of the FIAR and the current status of its objectives, provides an overview of the Property Management Systems Analysis (PMSA), an in-depth review of select elements of the PMSA found in the Guidebook and features a presentation of the capabilities of A2B Tracking’s Government Property Management Solutions including their RFID Asset Tracking and Inventory Management capabilities utilized with Deltek Costpoint to address these Government property management requirements.
