IT Systems Administrator
Working independently under the Vice President of Technology and in collaboration with engineering and the IT staff the IT System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. The System Administrator will also engage in customer focused activities, POC activities and potentially Professional Services as needed.
The IT Systems Administrator (SA) will recommend and implement new LAN devices and Internet services as well as perform a critical role at A2B Tracking for corporate best practices and emerging, innovative technical solutions for A2B Tracking’s growing team. The Systems Administrator (SA) administers and controls all host and guest operating systems and core applications, implementing and monitoring compliance with established security and integrity plans. The Specialist provides on-going analysis and planning of systems, recommends changes, upgrades, and new projects to facilitate meeting A2B Tracking’s needs.
Responsibilities
- Create, Maintain and Execute standard system administration practices
- Plan, deploy and manage IT systems, Web Servers, Active Directory and AWS environments
- Develop and maintain system documentation
- Transition new products and services to a production environment
- Research and resolve performance issues in distributed systems
- Monitor computing resource utilization, track trends, and project future needs
- Advance the state of systems per A2B Tracking standards and goals
- Direct the actions and monitor the performance of third-party support vendors
Education/Skills/Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Windows administration
- 3 to 5 years of experience with Network Management
- Network Operations Center experience, Service Level management
- Experience working in and managing a virtualized computing environment
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field desired
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Firewalls, and Active Directory
- Detail oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Good understanding of patch management for Windows operating systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical associates
- Self-directed and a fast learner with a track record of innovative problem solving
- VMWare experience a plus
- Ability to research and develop creative solutions
- Ability to take on specific training as needed to support new initiatives
- Ability to support customer related activities as needed such as migrations, upgrades etc…
- Ability to do limited and sporadic travel as needed to support customer needs
