Government Property is under the audit spotlight in 2025. The 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) has mandated that the Defense Department pass their full-financial audit before the end of 2028. In response, the Inspector General identified ten scope-limiting material weaknesses one of which is Government Property in the possession of contractors. As a result of this congressional mandate, government contractors should expect increased accountability requirements and pressure to their property management practices.
