Peter Collins, A2B Tracking’s CEO, will be a featured speaker at the 2025 NLIT Summit next month in Denver. Peter will explore the use of RFID Technology for Laboratories in his session on Wednesday May 7th.

The National Laboratories IT Summit is an annual event for IT and Cybersecurity professionals within the Department of Energy (DOE) laboratory system. The NLIT Summit facilitates sharing information regarding all aspects of IT and Cybersecurity operations, policies and technology best practices in support of research conducted at the National Laboratories.

2025 NLIT SummitAs a proud sponsor and exhibitor for the 2025 NLIT Summit, A2B Tracking will be showcasing modern Barcode and RFID Technologies, alongside their long-time partner Zebra, providing attendees with cutting-edge solutions to track equipment and critical assets to streamline their research operations.

RFID for Laboratories

Laboratories of all kinds struggle with managing the location and movement of their computers, lab equipment, samples and other critical items disrupting timelines, compliance obligations and compromising their ability to achieve results.

By nature, scientists and engineers are more focused on their research and less on keeping track of their equipment and assets. Laboratories need to combat this with modern inventory systems that can account for the movement of these items autonomously. No one wants to waste valuable research time looking for a piece of equipment that has gone missing.

RFID is rising to this challenge.

On Wednesday May 7th, Peter Collins will discuss how laboratories and research facilities are taking advantage of RFID tracking to modernize asset management. Peter’s session: RFID for Laboratories will explore the essential components of an RFID system and the unique function that each one serves. Peter will also compare Mobile and Fixed RFID readers and gateways, highlighting their strengths, weaknesses and the specific applications where they really shine.

Attendees will learn how RFID can enable fast and accurate inventories (oftentimes autonomously with gateways and portals) to provide an item’s last known location. Through the use of real life examples of RFID installations at laboratories around the country, Peter will provide a practical framework for how Passive RFID can be leveraged successfully.

A2B Tracking is proud to be a Zebra Partner

A2B Tracking is a registered Zebra Technologies ISV and Solution Partner with specialization in RFID Location and Tracking systems. The A2B Tracking platform has been successfully lab certified and validated to work seamlessly with Zebra RFID hardware.

A2B Tracking and Zebra will be exhibiting side-by-side at this year’s NLIT Summit. If you are at the show this year take advantage of this opportunity and visit booth #640 in the Exhibit Hall to speak with an RFID Specialist about your current program.
