Solutions Engineer

Solutions Engineer (SE) serves as a vital technical resource providing broad capabilities to the A2B Tracking Engineering, Professional Services and Sales teams.

As an A2B Tracking Solutions Engineer:

• You will regularly work with the Sales and Product teams and other key stakeholders across the organization to ensure the technical feasibility of proposed solutions as well as successful operation and rollout of A2B Tracking products.
• You will engaged with customers to actively manage the technology evaluation stage for new sales opportunities and serve as the key technical advisor and product advocate for A2B Tracking’s solutions.
• You will be assisting the Product Team with researching, designing, redesigning and testing new and existing software and hardware solutions and at times be called upon to lead product implementations.
• You will be able to professionally perform product demonstrations to customers and articulate product benefits to both business and technical audiences.
• You will be able to devise hardware and software solutions based upon customer requirements.
• You will be capable of installing A2B Tracking technology and perform training sessions for users and system administrators.
• You will work with the internal sales team in their efforts to capture prospective customers; and will act as the technical lead in understanding client business problems and mapping them to A2B Tracking’s technical solutions.
• You will collaborate with clients and internal sales teams to develop technical solutions, helping to articulate the value of the solutions within client environments; and will develop phased implementation plans with customers and internal stakeholders.
• You will work closely with all Sales and Product team members and will report directly to the VP of Technology.
• The ideal candidate has a technical background with experience in the software development process, demonstrating software, basic hardware implementation and customer training and is looking for an opportunity to work directly with customers via phone and in-person.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers to understand their business problems, scope, and priorities
• Analyze customer requirements to determine technical feasibility of proposed solutions
• Provide written responses to requirements to include hardware, software, network, and services solutions to meet customer needs
• Work with the hardware, production, software, and professional services teams to develop customer proposals that address customer needs
• Conduct solution workshops with customers to develop a detailed requirements and implementation roadmap
• Support all Sales team members in presenting and demonstrating the overall solutions
• Define high-level integration interfaces between A2B Tracking products and client enterprise IT systems
• Provide technical support to sales teams in responding to RFIs, RFPs and other solicitations

Education and Experience

• A BS degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
• A strong balanced of knowledge and experience with software, hardware and services is imperative
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in technology sales or pre-sales or solution deployment
• General knowledge of barcode, RFID, mobile computing and related technologies
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially in client environments in-person
• Excellent written communication skills
• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
• Ability to understand business and technical requirements
• Ability to develop a broad understanding of the client’s technical architecture and emerging technologies.
• Knowledge of strategic, conceptual and consultative selling
• Hands-on technical problem-solving skills
• Mechanical aptitude for setting up hardware
• Experience in logistics and business process modeling is desirable
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
